Where Healthy Skin Starts
Today I want to talk a little about caring for your skin...
A conversation about great looking skin must include some POSITIVE reference to the sun.
Your skin craves the bio-photons of light that only the sun's nourishing energy can provide. That's why I get out in it whenever I can and recommend others do the same to avoid skin problems and 'mal illumination'.
Recently, I bumped into a great couple from Melbourne, we got chatting and the woman said to me, "You have such great skin"!
I was naturally, very flattered and it got me thinking....
Most people don't realise that their SKIN is the largest organ of their body and yet it's one of the most mis-treated.
Your SKIN is the very "outer layer" of who you are.
Not only is your skin exposed to outside forces every single day, most people don't realise that it's the most vital organ for eliminating toxins...so you need to take care of it as best you can.
One of the "controllable" aspects of skin care revolves around what we actually choose to put ON our skin on a daily basis.
For many, a new moisturiser, body scrub, lip balm or body spray makes them look and feel good - but most of us give no thought to what's actually in those products, not realising that they're actually adding toxicity into the body.
The history of cosmetics spans at least 6,000 years of human history and almost every society on earth uses them in some form - women AND men! It's freaky to know that there are more than 10,000 ingredients approved for use in cosmetics and personal care items but more than 90% have never been tested for their effects on human health.
And of the chemicals that have been tested, many have been linked to a number of health problems from allergies and skin sensitivity to more serious hormonal disturbances, fertility problems and even cancer.
And ladies? Well, it's estimated that the average woman’s daily grooming and make-up routine results in a shocking 515 different synthetic chemicals on her body every single day.
So what can we do?
The answer is simple.
By using plant based oils, vegetable extracts and salts from nature you can have everything you need to have beautiful, soft, healthy looking skin.
Those that know me, know that one of my favourite mantras is this: If you can't eat it, don't put it on your skin.
It really is amazing how much better you actually feel when you go for simple plant-based products rather than the expensive, chemical-laden ones.
I know how difficult it can be to find the right stuff in stores, which is exactly why I went to the trouble of putting together a small line of personal care items myself, using only non-toxic, nature-made ingredients.
I really wanted people to experience for themselves just awesome wholesome, nature-made products can be.
